Description
This carefree little hat can be carried anywhere and worn when the temperature drops. It has a round, topstitched crown, three or four small tucks to add interest, and a fold back brim to cover your ears. Alpaca is a lovely, luxurious fiber, and I have recently found a great source for fair-trade alpaca yarn from Peru. Most people can wear it comfortably next to the skin. To help this hat to have a little more elasticity, I knit the alpaca with a thin lycra blend yarn so after felting, the fabric is soft, thick and a little stretchy. It can also be worn with the brim down like a slouch hat. Available in black, cream, charcoal, turquoise, dark teal, dark red, leaf green, dark green, light purple heather, navy, and oatmeal.
Although it has a good deal of stretch, this hat comes sized so it fits both men and women just right. It can be hand washed in cool water with a gentle soap and air dried. The measurements below are for the circumference of the hat.
Small 20.5 – 21.5 inches, 52-55 cm
Medium 21.5 – 22.5 inches, 55-57 cm
Large 22.5 – 23.5 inches, 57-60 cm
