Each is one of a kind, and the fabric is all hand made from superfine merino wool yarn, spun here in Maine.
I knit the fabric, felt it, piece the design, and then felt it again so the design becomes integrated into the fabric.
The final addition is a hand sewn bias silk binding which adds a linear and color element to the design.
The influences on the designs are many – Bauhaus weaving, architectural facades, modern quilt designs, Italian street grates.
The scarf is big enough to wrap twice around your neck – approximately 8” x 65”

How to Care for Your Pieced Wool Scarf
Please dry clean.
Wool naturally sheds dirt and is antimicrobial, so only occasional dry cleaning is needed. Hang your vest outside on a sunny day, or press it with a steam iron to freshen it up. It is important to clean wool garments before putting them away for the summer. Moths are attracted to the dirt/scents in wool, so cleaning your vest before storing will decrease the chance of attracting them.
